SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. (AP) The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called in after Sandy Springs police fired at a man while responding to a 911 call.
GBI spokeswoman Sherry Lang says a police sergeant and two officers responded to a home around 4:30 p.m. Friday for a domestic situation involving a mother and her son.

When officers arrived, Lang says, 26-year-old Abayomi Royalston confronted them with a handgun. The sergeant and one of the officers fired multiple shots at Royalston and hit him three times.

Royalston was taken to North Fulton Hospital for treatment.

None of the officers was injured.
The GBI is investigating to determine what happened. When the investigation is complete, the findings will be turned over to the Fulton County district attorney.
