GAINESVILLE -- The 2015 Dingo Cross is set to open the 2015 Georgia Cyclocross Series at the Lake Lanier Olympic Venue this weekend
“We are excited that our races are the Season Openers for the 2015 Georgia Cyclocross Series and we’re even more excited about working with the Lake Lanier Olympic Venue to help broaden it’s appeal beyond water focused events." said Betty Hodges, co-owner of Dingo Race Productions, the event company producing the race weekend.
"The Olympic Venue is an amazing. The racing will be spectacular, fast and fun for both racers and spectators.”
Cyclocross is a combination of criterium style bicycle racing and mountain biking. The competitors race on a closed circuit, traversing multiple terrains during the same race. This racing discipline began in Belgium as a way to allow riders to continue to train during the cold and harsh winter month, developing into a fullscale racing discipline. Cyclocross has caught fire in the US within the past few years, as it is a particularly friendly for spectators and very fun for the racers.
The races will be held October 3 and 4 at 10 am.
