BOGART — Talk about a response.

One week after suffering a gut-wrenching, one-point loss to open its region campaign, North Hall football stonewalled North Oconee for a 31-0 win in Bogart.

The victory gave the Trojans (2-3, 1-1 Region 8-AAAA) its first region victory of the campaign, as North Hall flashed both gritty defense and an opportunistic passing game.

The Trojans allowed just 129 yards to the Titans and also completed two long scoring bombs, as Jackson Madonna hooked up with Sam Jackson (58 yards) and Mac Bennett (58 yards) for early scores. Madonna finished the game 2 for 4 for 116 yards -- the two touchdowns giving North Hall a 15-0 lead midway through the second quarter.

Meanwhile, the Trojans run game did much of the rest, grinding its way to 111 yards -- led by 62 from Kyle Bacus, who also had a three-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

Placekicker Chris Dennis also helped North Hall pull away, drilling three field goals -- 23, 22 and 26 yards -- all in a row, as the Trojans sealed their first shutout victory since the 2011 campaign.

North Hall will play host to Buford next week at The Brickyard in Gainesville.
