GAINESVILLE - State Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black visited New Holland Knowledge Academy this morning to read to Pre-K students.

Black’s visit was in conjunction with Georgia Pre-K Week during which leaders from around the state are showing their support for early childhood education by visiting Pre-K classrooms across Georgia.

Activities planned for the remainder of the week at New Holland are:

• Wednesday:  Special Guest Readers’ Day - Principals from other schools within the school district will read to students.
• Thursday:  Celebrate Math Day - Students will participate in math games and special activities.
• Friday:  Celebrate Georgia Pre-K Week Performance - Students will participate in a special performance for parents.

Also, there will be a “Graduating Class of 2029 Wall” recognizing each student currently enrolled in the Gainesville City School System’s Pre-K program.
