NGTC, Goodwill team up to offer GED classes

CLARKESVILLE - Residents of Habersham County now have another place to earn their GED and prepare for college or the workforce. North Georgia Technical College has teamed up with Goodwill to offer afternoon GED Preparation classes at the new state of the art Goodwill Career Center. Students will have the opportunity to come to class Monday-Thursday from 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. at the Goodwill store location in Cornelia. 

“We are so excited to join forces with Goodwill and offer additional GED classes in Habersham County,” says Shelby Ward, Dean of the Adult Education Department at NGTC. “We have been looking for the right opportunity to expand our services, and Goodwill is the perfect fit. We look forward to working with Mr. Sweeney and Goodwill to offer more services in one location.” 

Paul Sweeney, Lead Facilitator of the Cornelia Career Center, has been a leading force behind making this new site possible. “Mr. Sweeney and the entire staff at Goodwill have been so gracious and excited to help expand the GED program at NGTC,” says Dean Ward. “We look forward to working with them.”

North Georgia Technical College will continue to offer morning classes at the Adult Education Center located on Commerce Parkway in Cornelia, Monday-Thursday from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., and on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., as well as morning classes from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Monday-Wednesday on the Clarkesville Campus.
