ATLANTA (AP) A judge in Atlanta has sentenced a driver to 15 years in prison for intentionally running down a cyclist in what authorities call a case of road rage.

The judge imposed the term on 20-year-old Joseph Alan Lewis during a hearing Tuesday.

The man pleaded guilty to charges that include injuring someone by vehicle and hit-and-run.

Gregory Germani was struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle in June 2014. He suffered a traumatic brain injury and is still in rehabilitation.

Prosecutors say Germani encountered Lewis at an intersection moments before he was hit. Authorities say Germani rode away after the two men argued, and Lewis followed and rammed him with an SUV.

Germani was dragged almost 50 feet, and Lewis drove off. He surrendered about a month later.
