BRASELTON - Two public hearings are scheduled next week and the week after for the rezoning of just over 73 acres of land in the Braselton town limits.

Town Planning and Development Director Kevin Keller said the request comes from Pultegroup, Inc.

"They want to do a development that's a total of 365 acres. 292 of those acres are already in our city limits and zoned. They want to add and annex another 73 acres and what they want to do is develop an active and adult community," said Keller.

Keller said the site plan proposes 775 lots.

Keller said the design will be similar to the Village at Deaton Creek, and while the two are close together, there is a difference between the two.

"Even though [the Village at Deaton Creek] is nearly across the road from this development, that one is not within our city limits, it's unincorporated Hall County," said Keller.

Keller said the homes will be normal, detached single-family homes, but they will be smaller in size and include maintenance in homeowner's association fees.

The Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 26 at 7 p.m. The City Council Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 5 at 4 p.m. Both meetings will be held at the Braselton Police and Municipal Court Building.
