ATLANTA (AP) Georgia's highest court has ruled in favor of the city of Atlanta in a class action lawsuit filed by the city's firefighters, police and other workers over their pension funds.
The Supreme Court of Georgia announced the ruling Monday morning.
The court said the unanimous opinion upheld an earlier Fulton County Superior Court ruling, and rejected arguments by the workers that a 2011 local ordinance is unconstitutional. The ordinance had modified pension rules.
Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed planned a news conference at 10:30 a.m. Monday to discuss the ruling.
