GAINESVILLE — A familiar voice on the WDUN airwaves has been silenced. Longtime commentator Gordon Sawyer passed away Thursday at the age of 89.
Sawyer, who spent 40 years as an advertising executive, was also an author who wrote six books about the history of the north Georgia area.
Sawyer's "Common Sense Chronicles" was an early morning staple on WDUN for years.
Funeral arrangements for Sawyer are pending.
