CLARKESVILLE - Clarkesville Main Street will hold its annual meeting and awards presentation at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at Clarkesville City Hall.

This is an open community meeting for the board of directors and Main Street volunteers to discuss 2015 accomplishments and 2016 projects and events. Community members interested in learning more about Main Street and ways to become involved are encouraged to attend.

Since its designation as a Main Street city in 2010, there have been many positive changes in town, most noticeably the Façade/Sign Grant program, officials say. In addition to the multiple community events held annually, Clarkesville Main Street has spearheaded several public art initiatives, downtown business networking events, beautification projects and created a junior Main Street Board, designed to engage the youth of the community.

“There is an optimistic outlook and momentum to build upon,” says Mary Beth Horton, Main Street Manager. “Clarkesville Main Street is looking forward to its continued work and collaborative partnership with our community in 2016.”

The meeting will include an awards presentation to recognize the Business Partner of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Golden Nail Award winner.

The community meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
