The National Weather Service said Friday that parts of north Georgia could see snow Monday night through Tuesday. Forecasters say parts of north Georgia could also see a rain and show mix. Meteorologists say it will be cold enough for snow to accumulate throughout north Georgia, but it's too early to predict how much.
Forecasters are also expecting bitter cold weather over the weekend with wind chills Sunday morning dropping to near 0 in parts of north Georgia. Forecasters also expect wind chills to drop to the single digits near the metro Atlanta area Sunday morning, with highs around freezing.
DeKalb County and the City of Atlanta have announced they will open temporary warming shelters over the weekend.
