Lecture series to focus on senior adult learning, living

GAINESVILLE - Brenau University East will be the site of a two-day lecture series focusing on superlative living and learning for senior adults. "Rediscovering Ourselves: A Path to Wisdom" is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 27 and 28, at Featherbone Communiversity at 1001 Chestnut Street in Gainesville.

The event, described as a lecture series on living fully and intentionally in the third stage of life, features the following speakers and topics:

Friday, March 27

6 p.m. Visioning Eldertopia with Kathy Amos, Executive Director, Brenau University Center for Lifetime Study

6:15 p.m. Rediscovery with Gus Whalen, Founder of Featherbone Communiversity

7 p.m. Adapting to Aging with Dr. Swati Gaur, Geriatrician, Specialist in Palliative Care, Northeast Georgia Health System


Saturday, March 28

10 a.m. Examining My Spiritual Side with Dr. Brent Strawn, Professor, Candler School of Theology, Emory University

11:30 a.m. Generating a Legacy with Dr. Cynthia Park, Associate Rector, Grace Episcopal Church

1:30 p.m. Reflecting On My Life with Beth Schumaker, Sr. Consultant at BrightStar Leadership and Certified Third Age Coach
