3-year-old killed in accidental shooting in Jefferson

JEFFERSON - A 3-year-old child has been killed in what appears to be an accidental shooting in Jefferson.

Jefferson Police Chief Joe Wirthman confirmed the shooting Sunday evening. He released no details, however, saying that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is taking the lead in the investigation.

Wirthman said he expected more details to be released on Monday.
