MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) A metro Atlanta county is considering the idea of using electric buses to move people around the Cumberland area, which will soon be home to the Atlanta Braves' new baseball stadium.
Cobb County is considering a $40,000 study to see whether a shuttle in the works to help ease traffic around SunTrust Park could use electric vehicles.
The Marietta Daily Journal reports that county officials could use the findings as part of a larger study of the Cumberland District Circulator.
The county has already approved a $445,000 contract with San Francisco-based URS Corp. to study how the transportation system will be implemented. The board is set to vote Tuesday on the more focused study of electric vehicles in the system.
SunTrust Park is now under construction southeast of Marietta.
