BUFORD — A family of three has been displaced by an early morning fire at their home on Friendship Road in south Hall County.
Hall County Fire Marshal Scott Cagle said when firefighters arrived at the scene just before 3 a.m. Friday, they found a double-wide mobile home with heavy fire showing from the structure.
Cagle said unattended cooking was to blame for the fire.
"The male occupant was cooking on the stove, fell asleep and then awoke to the smell of smoke and then was able to get his wife and small child out," said Cagle.
Cagle said the American Red Cross is helping the family with shelter and another necessities.
