Parrish named Deputy Chief for Gainesville PD

GAINESVILLE — The Gainesville Police Department has a new Deputy Chief.

According to a press release from the department, Capt. Jay Parrish will be promoted to the Deputy Chief's post effective August 3, 2015.

Parrish has served in a number of capacities in the Gainesville Police Department: Patrol Officer, Detective, Training Division Director and Captain of the Support Services Bureau.

Parrish is a lifelong resident of Hall County, according to Gainesville Police Chief Carol Martin. He is a 1995 graduate of North Hall High School and graduated from North Georgia College and State University in 1999 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He honorably served six years in the United States Marine Corp Reserve. In addition, Parrish is a graduate of the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute Management Development Program. Recently, he graduated from the 260^th session of the FBI National Academy.
