GAINESVILLE - A reunion for students, teachers and families that have participated in the pre-school program at First Presbyterian Church is set for later this month.

The reunion is in honor of the past afternoon director, Sister Wright, and organizers hope to attract as many people as possible from the program's 60-plus year span to the event.

"It's been an established program for a number of years," said Beverly Nordholz, a former director for the program. "We're hoping that anyone- children, parents, teachers - anyone who has been involved in our program will come, and parents will bring their children to see where they went to school."

Nordholz says Sister Wright dedicated over 30 years to the pre-school program.

"She touched many lives and we would like to have everyone come and honor her."

And, a special recipe from the program's late cook is on the menu.

"We had a wonderful cook, her name was Willie Mae Ivory. I have a recipe for punch she had given me in her hand-writing, and that's going to be served."

The reunion will be held Sunday, August 16 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Sweetenburg Hall at the church.
