ATLANTA (AP) The state of Georgia is seeking members for an advisory committee composed of people who should know something about schools - students.
The State Department of Education says Superintendent Richard Woods is looking for students from middle schools and high schools to serve on his Student Advisory Council.
Woods says the state needs to hear from students if it's going to develop policies that are focused on students and the classroom.
Members will meet with Woods to discuss the ways state policies affect what goes on in classes.
They also discuss other issues related to education and serve as the superintendent's ambassadors to their respective schools.
