NORCROSS, Ga. (AP) Authorities say residents of an apartment complex in Gwinnett County jumped from a second-floor window to escape a fire that engulfed much of the building.
Gwinnett County fire officials say firefighters were called to the Sinclair apartments in Norcross shortly after 2 a.m. Monday.
Officials say Gwinnett County police officers arrived and saw occupants jumping from the window. Fire crews found flames shooting through the roof of the two-story building.
Authorities say one occupant of the building was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported. Fire officials say eight units sustained heavy fire damage, and about 20 occupants were displaced from their homes.
