GAINESVILLE — Qualifying packets are now available for Gainesville’s November 3 municipal election.
Up for election this fall in the city: Council Member seats for Wards 2, 3 and 5 as well as Board of Education Member seats for Districts 2, 3 and 5.
The qualifying packets, which contain all documents to qualify as a candidate, are available on request from the City Clerk's Office. Potential candidates who want to obtain a qualifying packet should schedule an appointment with City Clerk Denise Jordan at 770-535-6865. Jordan may also be contacted via email at [email protected].
The qualifying period is scheduled for August 31 thru September 2 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. each day in Suite 303 of the Administration Building.
Individuals seeking to qualify through the pauper provisions must submit an affidavit and petition bearing signatures of at least 138 eligible voters during the qualifying period.
Write-In candidates must submit written notice to the City Clerk by September 9 and file the required documents with the City Clerk by September 14.
