Matt Kenseth dominated Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway, leading 146 of 200 laps en route to his third win of the season.
Kenseth had to survive a restart with 13 laps to go after Jimmie Johnson spun off turn four to bring out the race's final caution. On the restart, Kenseth used a shove from teammate Denny Hamlin to pull out ahead of Kevin Harvick, and drove away from there to the victory.
Harvick finished in second, with Martin Truex, Jr. in third, Austin Dillon in fourth and Hamlin in fifth.
Afterwards, Kenseth talked about the race and the key final restart. We also heard from Harvick and from Austin Dillon.
Early on in Saturday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Michigan, things didn't look so good for Kyle Busch. Busch was slapped with a pit road speeding penalty on lap 27, but powered his way back to the front of the field, using drafting help from teammate Erik Jones to take the lead from Ryan Blaney with three laps remaining.
From there, Busch went on to win his second straight series victory, and his first at Michigan. Busch spoke to the media afterwards about the win. Second place finisher Blaney also talked about his race, as did third place finisher Jones.
The NASCAR Sprint Cup and Xfinity Series now head for the high banked, half mile Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tenn. for this weekend's action. WDUN will have live PRN Radio coverage of the entire race weekend.
