ATLANTA (AP) A law enforcement agent in Georgia has been suspended for three days for using a public email address to register for an account on a cheating website.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (http://on-ajc.com/1UT22vz ) the agent at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation admitted to creating an account for the website Ashley Madison. Hackers stole the website's customer list and published that information online.
The agent is single. He told investigators that he believed the site was for singles and unsubscribed when he realized it was for married people. He closed his account within a week.
GBI spokesman Scott Dutton said the agent could be fired for any future violations.
