GAINESVILLE — The Gainesville City School Board welcomed a new member Monday night at the Board's first meeting of 2016.
John Filson was sworn in by Hall County Superior Court Judge Bonnie Oliver.
Filson ran unopposed for the Ward 2 post on the school board in November.
Also at Monday's meeting, incumbents Willie Mitchell and Sammy Smith were sworn in for another term.
