A long-time Hall County educator and principal has died at the age of 79
Bennie Horace Fouts was a Gainesville native, who spent 35 years in the education profession. Fouts began his career as a visiting teacher. He became principal of North Hall High School in 1974, serving the school until 1980. He then became principal at Lanier Elementary School for the next 15 years.
After retiring from education, Fouts raised cattle on the family farm.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 in the chapel at Gainesville First United Methodist Church.
