Helen apartment fire displaces families

Four families have been displaced as a result of an apartment fire in Helen Friday morning.  

White County Public Safety Director David Murphy said by email that  9-1-1  received a call at 3:24 a.m. reporting there was an apartment fire at 327 Brucken Strasse, Wilder Apartments.  

Initial callers reported smoke from the attic area and flames through the roof. 

The fire was brought under control at 6:59 a.m. Fire units remained on scene at 8:30 a.m. Friday.  

According to Murphy, no one was injured and no determination as to the cause has been made. A fire investigator has been called to the scene. 

The American Red Cross was called to assist the displaced families.  

Helen Fire was assisted by White County Stations 3, 7 and 2 assisting, along with City of  Cleveland  Fire.

Four families were displaced by an early-morning fire at a Helen apartment complex.
