CLEVELAND -- A Cleveland man was arrested Thursday and charged with several drug violations.
The Cleveland Police Department, with assistance from the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office, arrested 57-year-old Michael Wayne Sharp at a residence on West Kytle Street, Cleveland Police Chief John Foster said via email.
Sharp was wanted on a state probation warrant for previous drug and assault charges. He was arrested without incident and found to be in possession of approximately an ounce of meth with a street value of $2,900, a .380 automatic handgun, hypodermic needles and other drug-related objects.
Sharp was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug-related items, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
He remains incarcerated in the White County Detention Center.
