Two Gainesville men were arrested Friday in northern Hall County following an investigation by local drug agents.

Luis Alberto Carlos, 20, faces a number of charges in the case, while a second suspect, Jesus Eduardo Carlos, 22, faces a single charge.

Agents with the Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad (MANS), assisted by the Hall County Sheriff's Office Crime Suppression Deputies, made the arrests while executing a search warrant inside a residence on Fran Mar Drive, according to MANS Lt. Scott Ware.

That location is near Sardis Road, just behind Chestatee Academy.

Ware said officers conducting the initial search of the residence located synthetic cannabinoids and methamphetamine with a street value of approximately $750.00.

Luis Carlos, who Ware said resisted arrest before being taken into custody, was also found to be in possession of less than an ounce of marijuana while being checked into the Hall County Jail.

He faces felony charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Synthetic Marijuana and Crossing a Guard Line. Ware said Luis Carlos was also charged with misdemeanor counts of Possession of Marijuana and Obstruction.

Jesus Carlos, who was apparently arrested without incident, has been charged with one felony count of Possession of Methamphetamine.

An unnamed 16-year-old was also at the scene at the time of the arrests and was released into the custody of their mother. Ware said that suspect will face charges in Juvenile Court.
