The Christmas movie that was filmed this year in Dahlonega will be telecast by the Hallmark Channel Thanksgiving night. It will air at 8:00.
According to Hallmark Channel's website, "Christmas in Homestead" tells the story of a famous actress who heads to "Christmas-obsessed" Homestead, Iowa, to film a holiday-themed movie, only to fall in love with a local innkeeper and single dad, and ends up discovering the "true meaning" of Christmas.
Crews were filming in Dahlonega as late as the week before Gold Rush. A number of local residents and visitors were able to land parts as extras in the movie.
