Gwinnett County police are asking for the public's help identifying a female pedestrian who was seriously injured Christmas morning when she was struck by a vehicle.

"At Approximately 6:40 a.m., City of Lawrenceville Police, responding to a call of a suspicious person on their portion of Lawrenceville Suwanee Road, discovered the victim lying in the roadway," explained Gwinnett Police Sgt. Rich Long. "She matched the description of the suspicious person."

Authorities determined that the victim's injuries were the result of being struck by a vehicle, and the woman was transported by Gwinnett County Fire Services to Gwinnett Medical Center.

The victim, who is currently in critical condition, was described by Long as a "black female, light complexion, 20-30 years old, 5' - 5'5" tall."

"She was wearing green marine sweat pants, black coat and green scarf," Long continued. He noted that the victim also has the letters "ixvmcm" tattooed on her left collarbone.

The individual driving the vehicle that struck the woman was later located by authorities and will not face charges in the incident.

Anyone with knowledge of the victim's identity is asked to contact Gwinnett Police at (770)513-5100 or via 911.
