As promised at the beginning of 2016, Hall County law enforcement will beef up patrols on the county's major roadways to curb serious vehicle crashes.
During the month of February, motorists on I-985 will see additional patrols.
The Sheriff's Office said in a social media post I-985 was the area where there were the most traffic accidents last month. The goal is remind drivers on I-985 to slow down and be more cautious on the highway. They also will watch for seat belt violations, urging drivers and passengers alike to buckle up.
The Hall County Sheriff's Office recorded 32 traffic fatalities in 2015, and officials hope the added patrols will curb the number of fatal crashes this year.
