A family of five was displaced by a house fire in the Oakwood area late Wednesday night.

Hall County Fire Services Capt. Zachary Brackett said his crews were called to the scene on Candlestick Lane just after 11 p.m. He said firefighters were able to knock down the fire at the duplex fairly quickly, but the home was unlivable.

There's no word yet on how the fire started.

The American Red Cross is assisting the two adults and three children who lived in the home.
