GBI seeks public assistance in tracking Rabun County bank robbery suspect

Investigators with the GBI have now released surveillance photos of a man suspected or robbing a bank in Rabun County Monday afternoon, and they are asking for some help from the public in identifying the suspect.

The suspect entered the Rabun County Bank located at 7408 Highway 441 North in Dillard around 12:50 p.m. Monday. Investigators said the man demanded money and the teller complied.  The suspect them left the scene in a late 1990s model black Ford Explorer.

The GBI said the suspect is a black male with a light complexion, heavy build, approximately 6’2" to 6’4" tall.  They said the suspect appeared to be in his late 20’s or early 30’s. He had at least one visible tattoo and a facial piercing. 

The GBI, the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office, and the Dillard Police Department are asking anyone who might have information on the suspect to contact the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office at 706-782-6226 or the GBI tip line at 800-597-8477.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says this man robbed the Rabun County Bank in Dillard Monday afternoon, getting away with an undisclosed amount of money.
