PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) A man who failed to report to prison in north Georgia nine years ago has been arrested during a traffic stop on Interstate 10 in Mississippi.

Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell tells The Sun Herald 41-year-old Donnie Tran, of Pensacola, Florida, was arrested early Thursday. Tran is wanted in Gwinnett County, Georgia, for failing to report to prison in 2007.

Ezell says deputies working a Department of Homeland Security detail called Operation Stonegarden pulled over a white, sport-utility vehicle being operated in a careless manner just after midnight Wednesday. Ezell says Tran gave a false name and birthdate before finally giving deputies his true identity. A check of the National Crime Information Center database showed Tran was wanted.

He's being held in the Jackson County jail, awaiting extradition to Georgia.
