TEMPLE, Ga. (AP) Authorities are searching for a Carroll County man accused of trying to set his wife on fire and attacking a deputy with a fire extinguisher.
Carroll County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Brad Robinson tells media that deputies arrived at Barry Black's Temple home Tuesday morning with Black's estranged wife and a protective order. The deputies were accompanying her while she picked up her belongings.
Robinson says Black went to the back of the house and started a fire. The situation progressed, and Black struck a deputy on the arm with a fire extinguisher. Another deputy fired a stun gun at Black, but Black was able to flee the house on foot.
No deputies were injured.
Law enforcement continues to search for Black. Black's family says he is in his 60s, has diabetes and doesn't have his medicine with him.
