BRASELTON, Ga. (AP) A Gwinnett County high school teacher has been accused of firing a gun and nearly striking a teenager next door.

Citing a police report, Atlanta news outlets say that 41-year-old Nyree Rapley, a teacher at Hoschton's Mill Creek High School, got into a fight with her boyfriend on March 20 in her Braselton town house, grabbed a gun and fired a shot into the wall.

Police say the bullet flew into the home next door and landed near Rapley's sleeping 16-year-old neighbor. Nobody was hurt in the incident.

WSB-TV reports that Rapley is a chemistry teacher and cheerleading coach.

Rapley has been charged with reckless conduct and discharging a firearm.
