Two teenage suspects are in jail in Forsyth County following an armed robbery at a gas station on Buford Dam Road Tuesday night.

Forsyth County Sheriff's Deputy Epifanio Rodriguez said the hold-up happened shortly after 9 p.m.

"A suspect entered into the gas station, pointed a gun at the clerk, demanded money," said Rodriguez. "The clerk gave him the money and the person then left in an SUV-type vehicle that they could see was occupied by another person who was driving."

Rodriguez said Forsyth County deputies were able to get a good description of the vehicle and the suspects and several hours later, they found Stephan Burnette, 17, and Troy Palmer, 18, driving along Highway 20 near Georgia 400. He said deputies took the pair into custody after performing a traffic stop around 2 a.m.

Both suspects have been charged with armed robbery, and Burnette has been charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Rodriguez said the pair is also suspected of committing similar crimes earlier in the evening in Cobb, north Fulton and Gwinnett counties. He did not have specific information on the crimes in the other jurisdictions.

Burnette and Palmer are scheduled to have their first court appearances on Thursday.
