An Auburn man has entered a guilty plea to running over a motorcycle operator and killing him in Buford last summer.

Jacob Tyler O'Reilly, 25, entered his plea on Monday, according to a report in the Gwinnett Daily Post. He faced charges of vehicular homicide and failing to return to the scene of an accident.

At the time of the July 26, 2015 crash, police said O'Reilly ran over the victim, identified as 24-year-old Scott Moseley of Buford. Moseley was thrown from his motorcycle when he hit a median on Camp Branch Road and Gravel Springs Road. O'Reilly hit the victim following the initial accident and then left the scene. His vehicle was later discovered at the Mall of Georgia.

The newspaper report said Judge Karen Beyers handed O'Reilly a 15-year sentence with the first five to serve behind bars.
