A Buford man remains at large and authorities have called off a search for him Tuesday afternoon.
According to a release from Gwinnett Police, officers were called to a domestic dispute in Buford.
A woman met with police Monday and said she believed her son, Dustin York, 24, had been under the influence of drugs for several days, when he threatened to kill her and her pets. Police say the victim was hit in the head and York threatened her with a pair of scissors as she tried to leave the home. Warrants were secured for aggravated assault and
On Tuesday, police said the victim called again and reported York in the woods near the home. A pursuit ensued, and eventually prompted a lockdown at Buford City Schools, which was lifted around 2 p.m.
A female suspect was apprehended and arrested on an outstanding warrant, however the release states she denied being involved with York.
The search was called off after several hours, however police had not caught York. However, authorities said they were confident York remained in the Buford area, specifically Buford Highway and Thompson Mill Road.
