Hall County is dealing with its seventh rabies case of the year.
Animal Control officials said Wednesday a dog came into contact recently with a rabid raccoon in the Joe Chandler Road area in East Hall County. The positive test results came back to the county on Monday.
Animal Control, as always, is asking pet owners to make sure their pets are vaccinated for rabies. Vaccines are available at the Hall County Animal Shelter for $10 Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 1688 Barber Road, Gainesville.
Positive alert signs have been posted in the area where the rabid animal was discovered.
