Authorities said a man accused of shooting at law enforcement in a subdivision in north Georgia has been arrested.
The Walton County Sheriff's office said the man was apprehended Wednesday after shots were fired in the Morgan's Landing subdivision around 4 p.m. The community was placed on lockdown by authorities before police took the suspect into custody.
Investigators said it appeared David Cook, 42, was attempting to commit "suicide by cop." A post on the Walton County Sheriff's Office Facebook page said Cook had been suffering from depression.
Cook is said to have randomly fired more than 50 shots, several at deputies, but no one was hit. Police found shell casing from an AR-15 and several handguns.
No one was hurt.
Authorities said Cook surrendered with his hands up and asked why deputies did not kill him.
