A Jefferson woman was killed when she tried to avoid hitting a tractor trailer on I-85 southbound Friday morning, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Troopers said 39-year-old Rebecca Anderson swerved to miss the tractor trailer as it changed lanes near mile marker 132. Anderson's SUV traveled into the grass median of the interstate and overturned several times. Troopers said she was ejected and killed.

Anderson's 23-year-old daughter Victoria Brady was in the front seat of the vehicle at the time of the accident. Troopers said she refused medical treatment.

Brady's 5-year-old son was in the back seat of the vehicle and was ejected; he was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Troopers said the child was improperly restrained  in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

The fatal accident happened around 7:25 a.m.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
