Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black told AccessWDUN Friday that the hot, dry weather in north Georgia is not just a problem for vegetable growers, but poultry, beef and dairy farmers are being impacted, as well.

For now, crops are looking good, Black said, but his office will continue to monitor the spreading drought.

Black made his comments a day after the U.S. Drought Monitor reported severe drought conditions had expanded into a number of North Georgia counties.
