Forsyth County Sheriff's deputies have identified a carjacking suspect who allegedly committed the crime to elude Suwanee Police.
Wayne Alford, 19, of Atlanta was identified by a finger print found on the stolen car, which was recovered thanks to a tip from a witness, said Deputy Epifanio Rodriguez, Forsyth County Sheriff's Office spokesman.
It allegedly happened July 8 at a Dunkin Donuts on McGinnis Ferry Road in the southeastern part of the county, near the Gwinnett County line.
The victim, a woman, tried to keep Alford out of her vehicle, said Rodriguez, but Alford, described as a black male, grabbed the victim by the hair and pulled her out of the vehicle.
"(Alford) had no weapons. There were no weapons involved," said Rodriguez in a phone interview.
Shortly before this incident, Alford was involved in a foot pursuit with Suwanee Police.
Alford is accused of stealing a pickup truck at a Motel 6 in Suwanee the same day, and leading both Gwinnett County Police and Suwanee Police on a chase before OnStar, in communication with police, remotely killed the pickup's engine.
At point, Alford allegedly got out and proceeded to carjack the woman in Forsyth County.
