Members of the architectural and engineering team for the new Enota Elementary School will be at Tuesday evening's work session for the Gainesville City School Board, so that school board members can quiz the firm about the draft plans for the new school.

The school board members agreed at their August 13 retreat to invite members of Lindsay, Pope, Brayfield, Clifford Architects to the Sept. 6 work session.

Community members have approached the board at meetings and work sessions, expressing concern about the way the new school would be built on the property. The fear is that the plan - as it stands now - would lead to destruction of an educational garden that has been on the Enota property for eight years.

Some teachers, however, have said they are concerned there will be a delay in construction if plans are redrawn.

The work session begins at 6 p.m. at school board headquarter on Oak Street tin Gainesville.

The Q&A session for the architectural firm is the last item on the agenda.
