Family pets perish in White County house fire

CLEVELAND — Fire destroyed a White County home Monday afternoon, claiming the lives of some family pets.

The fire, at 152 Rocket Drive, Cleveland, was reported to White County 9-1-1 at 12:51 p.m.

Units from White County Station 4, Station 5, Cleveland Fire Department and Lee Arrendale State Prison Fire Department responded.

When firefighters arrived, they found a singlewide mobile home with additions fully involved by fire, said White County Public Safety Director David Murphy. The occupants were not at home when the fire broke out, and no injuries were reported.

The fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal's Office.

No further details have been released.
