The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee and the Georgia Forestry Service recently announced the winners of the 2017 Arbor Day Student Art and Essay Contest.
More than 100 entries were submitted on the topic “I Speak for the Trees.”
Students will be recognized at the Arbor Day Celebration February 17 at 10:00 at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens Gainesville. The event is coordinated by the Greater Hall Chamber and sponsored by the Hall County Master Gardeners, Keep Hall Beautiful and Georgia Power.
The winners are:
*3rd grade art:
1st Place: Lily Grace Clay, Enota Elementary
Runner ups: Mara Supron, Sardis Enrichment School and Eva Murray: Enota Elementary
*5th grade essay:
1st place: Cade Burnette, Riverbend Elementary
Runner ups: Colin Nichols, Riverbend Elementary and Hannah Kennedy, Enota Elementary
