A major construction milestone was celebrated at the new Lanier Technical College campus Wednesday as Carroll Daniel Construction and New South Construction teams erected the final steel beam on the job site.

Team members attending the Topping Out Ceremony included the Carroll Daniel Construction and New South Construction team, Lanier Technical College representatives, design professionals and their consultants, community members, Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) board members, and more than 300 subcontractors currently working on site.

This celebration also carried significance for Woodrow Brown and Eleanor Seymour, two children who were invited to the job site to receive a donation on behalf of their school, SISU (formerly Challenged Child & Friends), a local nonprofit that provides an integrated learning environment for children with special needs to be able to learn and interact alongside their typically developing peers. This donation was  given bydifferent contractors and subcontractors involved on the construction as a collective effort to help invest in learning opportunities for children in the community.

The new school is being built on Georgai 365 north of Gainesville.
