North Georgia Reads will host New York Times best-selling author Sharyn McCrumb November 3-November 5.

McCrumb will discuss her work at events around Metro Atlanta, including one in Flowery Branch at the Spout Springs Library Nov. 3, at 6:30.

McCrumb's other stops in Georgia will be in Marietta and Norcross.  To find out more about those events, check with the Cobb County Library System (Marietta) and the Gwinnett County Library System (Norcross).

McCrumb is best known for her Appalachian “Ballad” novels, including the New York Times best sellers The Ballad of Tom Dooley, The Ballad of Frankie Silver, and Ghost Riders, which won the Wilma Dykeman Award for Literature from the East Tennessee Historical Society and the national Audie Award for Best Recorded Book. Her latest novel, The Unquiet Grave, takes place in 19th century West Virginia and is based on the true story of one of the strangest murder trials in American history — the case of the Greenbrier Ghost.

All programs are free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

North Georgia Reads was created to promote collaboration between neighboring library systems and to bring bestselling authors to a community of 46 libraries in north Georgia. Hall County’s event is sponsored by Friends of the Hall County Library.
