A runaway Dawson County teen has been safely located after turning herself over to authorities more than two weeks after last being seen.

Malory Padgett, 15, is being held in protective custody after Dawson County Sheriff Jeff Johnson said she apparently walking into the Arkoma (Oklahoma) Police Department and reported herself as a runaway.

Johnson said Padgett will remain in police custody until her family can resume custodial duties.

Before entering protective custody, Padgett had last been seen in Forsyth County on January 13, and, according to a GoFundMe page established by her mother, took no personal belongings with her aside from a guitar.

Prior to running away from home, Padgett was said to live in the Dawsonville area with her father.
