CLEVELAND -- Two separate month-long investigations have led to the arrest of two Cleveland residents on drug distribution charges.
Both cases were initiated as a result of tips from White County citizens, said Mitchell Posey, special agent in charge of the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office.
Early Friday, White County authorities located approximately four grams of methamphetamine packaged for distribution on 32-year-old Margarita Delgado as she was leaving a local bar, Posey said.
Authorities previously received complaints that Delgado was selling methamphetamine from her places of employment, a White County bar and a White County restaurant, Posey said. ARDEO’s surveillance of Delgado confirmed the citizens’ suspicion. The street value of Delgado’s narcotics is $440.
Additionally, White County authorities executed a search warrant at 21-year-old Martin Kyler Ferguson’s residence, 60 Ash St., Cleveland.
Posey said ARDEO’s investigation confirmed citizens' suspicion that Ferguson was selling methamphetamine and marijuana from his residence. A small quantity of marijuana and methamphetamine were discovered during the search. The street value of Ferguson’s narcotics is $100.
Delagado and Ferguson each were charged with distribution of methamphetamine and were transported to the White County Detention Center. Ferguson was also charged with possession of marijuana.
ARDEO encourages citizens to report any suspicious drug activity at (706) 348-7410, or by contacting their local police department or sheriff's office..
